The government made an announcement a few weeks ago about potential legislation to make large companies pay on time as late payment was crippling small businesses. I think part of the point I was trying to make was is it right for a Government depart to put someone through a 1 minute plus press button senario to then simply hang up and say call back another time

Every time I phone and that so far this week has been 10 times I get the same automated voice asking for my details and then after about 3-4 mins she then tells me that they can't take my call as all advisors are busy and I get cut off. My current wait time is 14 minutes but I have waited up to half an hour in the past and to no avail - so best part of 4 hours waiting on the phone over the last month - just to make sure I am paying the correct amount of tax

The client is in Germany and the online authorisation route is almost always impossible to use for non-UK clients, because the code has either expired by the time it reaches Germany - it can take 6 weeks for post to get from HMRC to Germany, when it only takes anyone else 2-3 days. I sent an original tax residency certificate to HMRC as they insist on seeing the original with a specific request for its return as it was the original form

Could you please give me some information regarding the documents I need and how to obtain them? Particularly, I am interested in knowing how to apply for the UTR, National Insurance Number and CICS. In order to do that i think first of all i have to fill in registration form but i worry that by doing so i will be automatically registered as self employed person anew, what i am not
