Terence Crawford, junior welterweight, 27 Upside: Coming off what was in the eyes of some a 2014 Fighter of the Year campaign, Crawford got a hot start in a new division this past weekend by destroying top-10 contender Thomas Dulorme. Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., light heavyweight, 29 Still a big name in Mexico because of his dad, still a fun fighter to watch, his laziness and his loss to Andrzej Fonfara are troubling signs, as is the beer bombardment after he quit and utter denial of what happened in the bout

Salem, Mass., lightweight Matt Doherty (3-1) kicked off the undercard with a unanimous decision win over Jacob Solis (1-1) of Lawrence, Mass., who returned to the ring for the first time in three years. With each passing round, DeLomba got his legs back and began taking control of the fight, reverting to his trademark style of boxing on the outside and working the angles effectively

Perhaps, then, it is little wonder that it is a seemingly changed man finally prepared to talk about the past, and a future which, he admits for the first time, includes a plan to reclaim the world title. Every boxer needs to be able to punch, but none more than me and that's because I'm not that skilful and I'm one of the smallest heavyweights you'll ever see

While some feared for his health, the comparatively minute Englishman travelled to Nuremberg, Germany in November 2009 and toppled the giant over the twelve round distance. For starters he successfully defended the WBA title twice in 2010, stopping both John Ruiz and Audley Harrison, and then went a step further and looked to unify the division with a blockbuster clash against Wladimir Klitschko in 2011

However, the wide cards belie a unusual vulnerability about Klitschko at times, which was not in keeping with his most recent victories during which his defence has seemed virtually impregnable. Indeed, when Jennings first laced them up, Klitschko was already seven defences into his current hot streak. But he put up a good fight here, although on the few occasions he did get inside Klitschko's defence, he was unable to land anything other than single shots

The Bronx native has shared the ring with big punchers Randall Bailey, Breidis Prescott and Thomas Dulorme, but he has lately been relegated to being an opponent for up and coming prospects. Salido, who forfeit his title on the scale on Friday, came in at 147 pounds and had an 11 pound weight advantage as he used all his veteran experience and a fierce body attack (and many low blows) to trouble Lomachenko throughout the fight

The former Richmond player scored the vital try which captain Jonny Wilkinson coolly converted fifteen minutes from time to help his star-studded RC Toulon edge red-hot favourites and fellow French Top 14 outfit Clermont Auvergne 16-15. In his previous UK outing at NIA, Birmingham back in November 2011 the Brazilian impressively choked out charismatic Londoner Brad Pickett in one round

July 4, 2015 0 Flanagan looking to emulate Hatton 10 years after sneaking in to see him crowned champion Manchester star Terry Flanagan sneaked into ringside for Ricky... In the 19th century, for example, many heavyweight champions weighed only 170lbs (12st 2lb, 77kg) or less (although others did weigh over 200 pounds) The modern day heavyweight boxer in general is much bigger in size than their predesessors of the past

Joshua (13-0, 13 KO) and his team have been searching for an opponent who can actually last rounds with the 2012 Olympic gold medalist, and Johnson, who has gone the distance with the likes of Vitali Klitschko, Tyson Fury, and Dereck Chisora, seemed as good a choice as anyone if the idea was indeed to see if Joshua could hold up over a longer fight

They were eyes that then focused on his cornerman, and former world champion, Patrizio Oliva, who stood by the turnbuckle waving a white flag of surrender. He missed wildly with looping left-hooks and roundhouse right hands, before two right-hooks to the side of Ruiz' head sent the former champion hurtling towards the ropes

Krasniqi is basically a confirmed gatekeeper, having lost only twice very early in his career and then last year when he stepped up to the level of Nathan Cleverly. Martin Rios; Buenos Aires, Argentina; TV Publica (ARG) Godoy, who has come up as a golden prospect in Argentina, was once ranked here, but has been tagged with 2 losses now

The Wilmslow giant dismantled Dereck Chisora for the second time last month to win the British and European titles and also secured the number one and mandatory position to Klitschko, who next fights in April, but must then defend his WBO title against Fury next. Tyson Fury blasts David Haye again as he prepares for two-fight leap towards Wladimir Klitschko challenge - Telegraph

While rival Dereck Chisora will defend the WBA and WBO International heavyweight titles against Kevin Johnson from Atlanta, Georgia, Fury is on a 10-round fight with Abell, who hails from Missouri. The American carries danger in his heavy hands, but has been found wanting in the last two years by top 10 contenders Chris Arreola, Fres Oquendo and Kubrat Pulev

Pulev, who sported bloody welts under both eyes, was laid out flat on his back, humbled by the guy he disrespected during the build up to the event but at least he came to fight. However, Pulev, who initiated his share of mauling tactics and clinches during the fight, got up from the first three knockdowns with his will to win intact

Who will be next to fight heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko?

  http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/8158315/who-next-fight-heavyweight-champion-wladimir-klitschko
It will depend on the date from RTL, their German television partner. The unfortunate news is that there is no obvious opponent for him to make his 13th defense against. But Klitschko (58-3, 51 KOs overall; 19-2, 16 KOs in world title fights; 12-0, 10 KOs in his current and second title reign) is a dominant champion, and it's good for boxing that he wants to be more active. There are a handful of heavyweights on the rise who aren't quite ready for Klitschko, but who ever really is? It would be more interesting to see some of the newer guys on the scene face him perhaps a tad early than to see another retread opponent in with the champ. The fight at the end of the year could go to Dereck Chisora if he defeats David Haye on Saturday

Klitschko and Wolfgramm met both at the Olympic Games 1996 (gold medal finals) and in the professional boxing ring, therefore Wolfgramm's height is both listed at Olympic websites (and therefore WikiPedia) and at BoxRec. But we both agree on that opponent is THE most important factor, which these graphs prove when seeing great fighters beating heavier poorer ones..this is where this era falls down

FACT! Every boxer is floored when caught off balance or off guard, otherwise they wouldn't be knocked down! lol Frazier was a total, unmissable punching bag and had a piss weak left hook that was good for waking up a sleeping opponent, nothing more. We can't have Wlad vs Lennox to settle it properly but what in the total package of both fighters could otherwise lean the chances of winning in one or the others favour? Is there anything about there observed abilities that would give one an advantage or disadvantage over the other? Both are similarly well rounded
