Out of curiosity, you don't happen to be using a mail account hosted through g-mail do you? I did notice on my phone that my previous mail settings on my phone were not working correctly, either. Fortunately for most, this must be an isolated incident as checking the apple support forums didn't turn up anything for me and there's no one else chiming in here

Apple stops development of Aperture
MichaelQ Probably time for a do-over of both programs, and doing two going forward made no sense.I was surprised Apple mentioned Photos in the WWDC Keynote given its 6-9 months away at best. If you use Photos with an iPhone or similar camera, I would bet it will treat you like you are running iPhoto, but if you use Photos with a Canon 5D or similar camera, I would bet it will treat you like you are running Aperture. The reason I say this is that Photos is a photo front end for iCloud, and sells iCloud storage

These are relatively basic, however, compared to professional suites such as Aperture, Lightroom, or Photoshop, which have many more parameter controls, and a broader array of tools like brushes and plugin extensions

Throughout the years of multiple iPhoto upgrades and rebuilding photo libraries I ended up with over fourteen thousand photos and I knew that many of them were duplicates but I was too lazy to deal with them. Well, then came a hard drive crash and the prospect of me rebuilding my library once again (I didn't have a very good strategy for backups but I do now) and going through each and every photo to figure out which ones were originals
There may be other improvements I haven't discovered or don't use.iPhoto '11 loses a lot of things like the ability to view or edit your photos full screen (the new 'full screen' mode is just a sort of iPad interface, not sure why, I'm still using a mouse and a keyboard). Apple have agreed to refund the purchase price because of the problems I was experiencing, especially with iPhoto '11.The new iPhoto has some great ideas; unfortunately these appear to have come at the expense of more basic functions
How to Get Your Photos Out of iPhoto With Your Titles and Descriptions Intact
If you followed all of steps in this post, then it should work, unless something is slightly different or software updates with iPhoto have changed something since I made this tutorial. Fat32 is the type of formatting that is widely given as the one that easily works on both platforms, so this is how you should format the drive you want to use shuttle files between the two
Make iPhoto imported pictures usable in iMovie - Mac OS X Hints
I suspect the behavior of iPhoto that everyone is speculating about is not at all intentional, but an unintended side effect of OS X's emphasis on file extension over metadata. Knowing that the files were still, in fact, JPEG images, I figured it couldn't be too hard to find out what was preventing iMovie from seeing the image files as importable
Apple releases OS X 10.10.3 update with new Photos app, iCloud Photo Library
For software developers the update contains application programming interfaces needed to support the Force Touch functions of the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and the upcoming 12-inch MacBook. iCloud Photo Library has also exited beta, making it possible to browse a personal photo collection from any device running OS X Yosemite or iOS 8, as well as iCloud.com
If you applied image adjustments to photos synced to your iOS device from iTunes, a duplicate of each photo will be created in Photos with adjustments applied. Tags and captions from iPhoto are not displayed in Photos, but you can use them as search terms and they will show up respectively as Keywords and Titles in Photos search results
Ready to move on from Aperture or iPhoto?
Is it better to import the photos into aperture first from iPhoto, or just do a direct import? I have three years worth of photos that ended up in iPhoto and not Lightroom and I would like to change my habits and workflows, while keeping cloud access. My iPhoto library appears to be in my pictures folder in the finder but it says size is 133MB (does this seem right?) Every time I open iPhoto from this location it tries to download a random group of pictures
How to Move an iPhoto Library into Photos for Mac
The problem with iCloud Photo Library is that if you are pressed for space on an iOS device (like every iPhone I have ever seen) and on your Mac (like every MacBook with SSD I have seen), then your disk space disappears due to iCloud duplicating the photos and then it stops storing photos in iCloud anyway. Can anyone help? TIA Reply guessing says: May 26, 2015 at 1:05 pm Connect the drive and look at the partition in Disk utility to see what the disk format is
John's Digital Photography Page
If you run this on the new library and the saved older version (I use iPhoto Library Manager 2.0 to switch libraries) you can then run a file diff utility (such as the CVS utility in the Developer Tools Project Builder or one of many shareware apps) to see what's been lost. Old strobes used over 200V (mechanical trigger)! Additionally, the contacts on the base of the Vivitar 560D don't line up with the G2 hot shoe; two of them are aligned but one is between two of the G2 contacts
Export iPhoto events into appropriate directory structure - Mac OS X Hints
Could it be that simple color correction operations are handled in real time from the original image (iphoto's marketing claims to save disk space by doing that) ? In that case your script could be copying an image from the iphoto library that doesn't correspond to the version you would expect. Unbound is easy to use, fast, and organizes photos using a file structure instead of a behemoth database file.Just like the mobile version, Unbound for the Mac can sync up with Dropbox to give you a real powerhouse of photo storage and management. iPhoto Library Manager Help
Copying your keyword list to another library One of the key features of iPhoto Library Manager is that it will copy a photo's list of keywords when copying the photo from one library to another. In each group of duplicate photos, a white checkmark will be displayed over the photo which will be included when copied, and the rest of the photos in the group will not be copied
