First, I flipped the self-portrait of Leonardo so that it was facing the same direction as the Mona Lisa, then I overlaid the two images to see how if there were any similarities. Vincenzo Perugia apparently believed that the painting belonged in Italy instead of France, so he went to the museum with two friends, took the painting out of its frame, hid it under his smock, walked out of the museum, and hid it under his bed! It stayed there for two years

While most of the artwork of the Renaissance period depicts biblical scenes, it was the style and technique of the paintings of this period which make them distinguished from other eras of artwork
